Breadboarding the design for final adjustments
ATMEGA328PU-P Micro-controller (with burnt-in Arduino NANO Bootloader)
Veroboard layout of v1.0 breadboard design (with motor driver on the same board)
This is version 1.0 (with a 1A 5v regulator)
Veroboard layout of v2.0 breadboard design (with motor driver on the same board)
The 5v Reg overheated too much with v1.0 design, so a 12v-5v DC-DC converter was used
Veroboard layout with micro controller, stepper motor driver IC & DC-DC converter (12v-5v)
The whole circuit design draws 60mA with the stepper motor running continuously
Design complete with Krell company sticker
Enclosure: 95x45x23mm
The classic Chinese 28BYJ-48 stepper motor
Very cheap and works pretty well
Finished product - The circuit drives the Barn Door Trackers' big gear precisely at 1 rotation per minute
The enclosure is mounted onto the 2 screws on the right & the motor wires & connector go through a small cut-out
